HONORING OF INDIGENOUS LANDS:
The Stay Woke Planning Committee acknowledges the indigenous people of the Medicine Creek Treaty, whose land was stolen and on which our gathering takes place. We would like to acknowledge the Nisqually and the Squaxin People who are the traditional custodians of this land. We give thanks and pay respect to elders past and present of the Nisqually and Squaxin Island Tribe. We extend that thanks and respect to other Native people present.
MANY THANKS TO OUR AMAZING PLANNING COMMITTEE, TO THE PARENTS, ADVISORS, PRESENTERS AND KEYNOTES WHO MADE THIS CONFERENCE POSSIBLE!
This conference is supported by a grant from Teaching Tolerance, a project of the Southern Poverty Law Center, and our partners in the North Thurston and Olympia School Districts, the City of Olympia, Intercity Transit and the Education Department at St. Martins' University.
